Vauxhall Magnum Category 2 Historic Rally Car
2.3 SOHC with stage 4 big valve head, Kent VF2 camshaft, twin 1 3/4" SU carburettors with deep K&Ns, high pressure oil pump, Lucas distributor conversion with Lumenition, Tony Law exhaust manifold and system, world cup type engine mountings and alloy radiator. 157bhp at 5678 rpm and 179.9 lb/ft of torque at 3781 rpm.
SP Developments semi helical gearbox with standard Rocket ratios and quickshift, 9 1/2" AP racing clutch with 6 paddle plate, Salisbury 4HA axle with plate type LSD and 4.27 to 1 ratio crown wheel and pinion.
Front - Ventora/HPF uprated bottom arms, ball joints, uprights and wheel bearings, 500lb springs, Bilstein dampers, modified bottom arms and works skids, polybushed throughout and 3/4" anti roll bar
rear - standard 4 link arrangement, with works type bottom arms and bespoke top arms, with 250 lb springs and Bilstein dampers, no anti roll bar
Front - Ventora front hubs fitted with vented discs, M16 callipers with Mintex M1144 pads
Rear - 10" drums, manual adjustment with cable handbrake
twin master cylinders with bias pedal box

Minilite Sports 6x13 rims with 165/80 x 13 front tyres and 195/70 x 13/185/70 x 13 rears
outside - original all steel body shell with strengthened front chassis rails and solid mounted crossmember, rear suspension mountings strengthened, fibreglass bonnet and works fibreglass quarter bumpers, alloy sumpguard, poly carbonate rear side windows, stage rally legal mudflaps, Ralloy shaped alloy petrol tank in boot with Facet silver top pump, Battery relocated to the boot and 2 spare wheels.
inside - Ian Jemison 6 point bolt in roll cage with diagonal and harness mounting rail and removable door bars, plumbed in and hand held extinguishers, battery cut-off with cable fitted, welded in seat rails with OMP TRS seats in date to 2018 and 4 point Titon harnesses in date to 2020, works replica dash with Brantz international 2 trip meter and Brantz rally timer clock, Elliott rev counter, Racetech electronic speedometer and oil pressure, water temperature and voltmeter, OMP suede steering wheel and fully trimmed.

This is as close to the original Group 2 spec as possible, and has been built up over the last seven seasons into a very competitive car for a fraction of the cost of a comparable Escort or Porsche 911. Currently being used on daylight regularity road rallies but would easily make into a stage car as very little left to do to get it log-booked.

This is a well known car on HRCR Clubman Championship events and is always competitive on the tests, it gets a lot of attention as it's not an Escort! only for sale as I need something less physical to drive due to a shoulder injury. It is nowhere near show car condition but is a very strong and tidy useable car, notable results last year include 4th overall on East Anglian Classic 2nd overall on Solway Historic Rally and 4th Historic on the Stocktonian, and this year 4th fastest on the tests on the recent Ilkley Jubilee Historic Rally and 6th overall on the Berwick Classic and 5th overall on the Ilkley Targa

12000, plus big spares package available at cost, engines, wheels and tyres 17 Minilites in total and gravel tyres, pair of 45 Dellortos on Blydenstien manifold, 2 new Kent camshafts VF2 and VF3, suspension arms and ball joints and much more. The spares are not available without the car, sorry unless of course the car sells and I have spares left over.
